What a mess!
Fly tipping is blighting our streets borough wide. Dumped mattresses and overflowing bins are now common place. This Labour council refuses to fully open the recycling centre which increases offending. Opposition to the introduction of fortnightly waste and recycling collections was overwhelming. This policy has fuelled a tidal wave of unsightly littered streets.
Recycling levels are languishing at a low 33%. If the Labour council want to increase this, restoring the weekly collection would be the first step.
Councillor Maria Alexandrou points out “This Labour administration has encouraged the deterioration of our urban environment and it is shameful that it doesn’t listen to its residents”.
